A paper was recently published on the journal “Symmetry” (2019, 11(12), 1525; doi:10.3390/sym11121525, MDPI) by Daniel García-Vallejo, Alfredo Alcayde, Javier López-Marínez and Francisco G. Montoya.

The paper, entitled “Detection of Communities within the Multibody System Dynamics Network and Analysis of Their Relations”, analyzes bibliographic data extracted from Scopus about the existence, consistency, and geographical distribution of the worldwide multibody community.

It identifies 24 main communities; in decreasing size, the community n. 12 relates to Aeronautic applications, and mentions as the most preminent the work “An efficient formulation for general-purpose multibody/multiphysics analysis” (J. Comput. Nonlinear Dyn. 2014, doi:10.1115/1.4025628, ASME), i.e. the core paper about MBDyn, as the most cited.
